Het gerucht hing al langer in de lucht, Hello Games heeft het nu ook bevestigd: de release van No Man’s Sky is uitgesteld.
In plaats van op 22 juni in de rekken te verschijnen komt de game nu uit op 10 augustus. Het uitstel is er gekomen omdat Hello Games het spel nog helemaal wil oppoetsen. Volgens Sean Murray, de oprichter van Hello Games, was dit een heel moeilijke keuze op te maken, maar het is wel de correcte keuze.
“As we approached our final deadlines, we realised that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards. I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special. […] We understand that this news is disappointing. Making this game is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but we are so close now, and we’re prepared to make the tough choices to get it right.” -Sean Murray
No Man’s Sky verschijnt 10 augustus op PlayStation 4.
