Het is nog een klein half jaar tot E3 opnieuw helemaal losbarst, maar er is nu al mogelijk een domper op de feestvreugde. Want PlayStation zou, volgens industrie analist Michael Pachter opnieuw niet aanwezig zijn.
“As far as I know, they don’t plan to attend. I think that’s a huge mistake, as their ‘focus on the consumer’ is not inconsistent with their attendance at the premier industry trade show. I hope they change their minds, but am sceptical.”

En dat ondanks dat de release van de PlayStation 5 voor dit najaar op de planning staat.
De nieuwe console zou volgens Pachter eind februari aan het grote publiek voorgesteld worden.
Dat zei hij in een interview met Video Games Chronicle. In datzelfde artikel wordt er vermeld dat Microsoft wél aanwezig zal zijn om hun nieuwe Xbox uitgebreid voor te stellen.
